Pumping

Pumping is necessary for the transfer of water:

  • from catchment zones to treatment plants;
  • from the catchment zones or treatment plants to reservoirs or water towers.

To increase the available pressure, it is often essential to use boosters.
The pumps equipping the pumping or booster stations can be operated at fixed or variable speed.

The frequency variation allows:

  • maintenance of constant pressure, even when the flow rate varies;
  • reduction of transitory phenomena when starting up and shutting down the pumps;
  • energy savings.
